LinkedIn: The Science of Push

Probably not the final cover, this is a Photoshop edit with Gemini background.

Probably one of the most nerve wracking things I have ever done is made this post. It was in my “drafts” for a while, the post went through a bunch of variations and changes, but “promoting” myself is something I have never enjoyed doing. How do you share something you have spent a considerable amount of time and passion on, without sounding arrogant. How do you share something in today’s age, without it sounding like it was created by AI, or is it even relevant if it was, or in some peoples eyes, wasn’t? Never the less, I hit the share button and basically nothing happened, which is what I was hoping. My plan was always to simply stake a claim. Put it out there to the world I had done this research and think it would be valuable to share. It was also a line in the sand for me to move my ass and get this thing completed … hopefully it does not take six more years to get it there. read more

Lithium Labs: 2011 – 2014

I founded Lithium Labs in 2011. It was bootstrapped by the proceeds I received after selling Aschmann Media Group (Social Media Startup). The idea was born by recognizing the impact, and potential, mobile apps could have in the enterprise space. The original mission statement was:

“Lithium Labs provides a full suite of services for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining an enterprise mobility solution. We support all major mobile operating systems and hardware including iPad, iPhone Android, Blackberry, Windows Mobile, Symbol and Intermec.”

The product/application portfolio of the company was seeded by a few mobile apps I had already released, and were being used widely in the SAP space. All of them were free from the various App Stores, the primary objective of these apps were for me to personally learn about the technologies and platforms, and the secondary objective, was to draw awareness to Lithium Labs as a company, and provide an example of what was possible. One of the most popular free apps which I developed under the Lithium Labs portfolio was “SAP Note Viewer”, with 12K downloads. read more

This is another blog post of a series around the enterprise mobility IT team at SAP. We are an internal team focused on managing mobile devices, mobile applications, and developing custom apps for SAP’s 110,000 employees. I believe we have some unique stories, software, tools, and insights to help others in the community considering, or currently undertaking, some of the challenges which surround mobility and its adoption in the enterprise. As an SAP champion, I enjoy sharing and promoting my experiences and knowledge with others through the SAP Community, if you enjoy this post, check out some of my past content. read more

OKR’s, Initiatives and Examples

Initiatives and OKRs (Objectives and Key Results) are both strategic management frameworks, but they differ in their focus and purpose within an organization.

Initiatives:

Initiatives are specific projects, programs, or actions that are undertaken to achieve a desired outcome. They are concrete and actionable steps that contribute to the fulfillment of broader objectives. Initiatives can be short-term or long-term and are often cross-functional, requiring collaboration and coordination among different teams or departments. Initiatives provide a structured approach to implementing strategies and achieving organizational goals.

OKRs:

OKRs, on the other hand, are a goal-setting framework that helps define and measure objectives and their key results. Objectives represent the desired outcomes or goals that an organization or team aims to achieve. Key Results are measurable milestones or metrics that indicate progress towards the objectives. OKRs are typically set on a quarterly basis and are designed to align and focus teams, providing clarity on what needs to be accomplished and how progress will be measured. read more

Introduction

A few weeks ago I gave a presentation on “Why apps matter …” for an annual internal SAP event called SAP Worx. These presentations highlight some of the important internal tools which IT develops to help our employees in their daily lives. While this was internally focused, I felt it could be beneficial to share some of the details and content behind what, we as a team, are focused on from a mobility perspective. read more
