A designer is at once an engineer who imagines the object and determines its feasibility, an entrepreneur who is able to understand his clients’ business objectives, and an artist who creates an expressive and desirable aesthetic

RetroPi
This was a fun project to get some old school retro apps installed and running on RetroPi, it was pretty easy to setup and within no time I was playing Super Mario with my kids on a controller.
This is the basic overview of how I got it setup and started:
- Download Balena Etcher
- Download RetroPi
- Install onto Micro SD Card using Balena Etcher
- Add Keyboard/SD/Power/HDMI
- Enable SSH
- Use Filezilla to copy games to folders

Generative Learning is a fascinating theory of encouraging your brain to consider and link new ideas with old in order to better understand those concepts – this video is a great example of both generative learning and generative design and how we can can better prepare ourselves for the future as revolution cycles start to change. Thanks Mark Finnern for sharing! #cognitiveneuroscience#generativedesign
2018 SAP TechEd Live Interview
I had a nice Live Studio interview with Britt Womelsdorf at the 2018 SAP TechEd event chatting about the SAP Cloud Platform SDK’s. Check it out here:
(The video has since been taken down, but here are a few photos).

The general script below is what I planned to use:
1.) Paul: Quick introduction …
- SAP IT, responsible for developing Android apps for SAP’s 90k employees.
- And today we will be chatting with Britt Womelsdorf, who is part of product management for the new SAP Cloud Platform Android SDK
2.) Paul: “With mobility being a key priority for organizations, it seems like SAP has responded to this by delivering some important user experience frameworks over the past 7 or 8 years, including SAPUI5, OpenUI5, Apple iOS SDK and now the Android SDK, why do you think these are important to organizations?”
Britt: Mobility high-level, IT department, enterprise and organizational level opportunities

Phillips 66
I had a nice opportunity to present some offer internal IT work we were doing at SAP, with the oil giant, Phillips 66. It was a great conversation sharing what, where and how we are deploying SAP BTP, apps and mobile solutions to help our company and its employees be successful. Here are a few slides and key take aways from the meeting.

SAP IT mission statement is “Empowering our people to work anywhere, anytime”
Whats also interesting is that just about every department within IT, has some variation of our IT mission statement.
We have noticed a significant change in User Expectation towards Business Models and IT and somewhat of a quest to build user centric IT services, and our efforts are increasingly focused on simplifying and improving the quality of work life for employees.
