This was a strange introductory experience for me, but one of my work colleagues and friends was responsible for the SAP Sponsorship/Partnership of Team Liquid and he suggested that this game was blowing up. I started watching gamers play it on Twitch (ChocoTaco) and looked like fun, and prompted me to build a gaming PC and try it out. For the past 5 years I have surprisingly been hooked … from eSports to watching some great players/streamers like TGLTN, this game has really been a key entertainment generator for me. Playing this game has a huge pressure factor, and being a competitive person, it is so awesome to win a “Chicken Dinner”. I think I have taken photos of nearly all of my wins, and being a very mediocre gamer, something I have actually been quite proud of. read more

2018 SAP TechEd Live Interview

I had a nice Live Studio interview with Britt Womelsdorf at the 2018 SAP TechEd event chatting about the SAP Cloud Platform SDK’s. Check it out here:

Phillips 66

I had a nice opportunity to present some offer internal IT work we were doing at SAP, with the oil giant, Phillips 66. It was a great conversation sharing what, where and how we are deploying SAP BTP, apps and mobile solutions to help our company and its employees be successful. Here are a few slides and key take aways from the meeting.

SAP IT mission statement is “Empowering our people to work anywhere, anytime”

Whats also interesting is that just about every department within IT, has some variation of our IT mission statement.

We have noticed a significant change in User Expectation towards Business Models and IT and somewhat of a quest to build user centric IT services, and our efforts are increasingly focused on simplifying and improving the quality of work life for employees. read more

Did you know that heredity is the most dominant factor in your personality? An intriguing example of this is the “Jim Twins”:

One example of the amazing similarity of twins reared apart is the so-called “Jim twins”. These twins were adopted at the age of four weeks. Both of the adopting couples, unknown to each other, named their son James. Upon reunion of the twins when they were 39 years old, Jim and Jim have learned that:

  • Both twins are married to women named Betty and divorced from women named Linda.
  • One has named his first son James Alan while the other named his first son James Allan.
  • Both twins have an adopted brother whose name is Larry.
  • Both named their pet dog “Toy.”
  • Both had some law-enforcement training and had been a part-time deputy sheriff in Ohio.
  • Each did poorly in spelling and well in math.
  • Each did carpentry, mechanical drawing, and block lettering.
  • Each vacation in Florida in the same three-block-long beach area.
